Daddy and Daughter's Day Out
A few weeks ago my good friend Lee asked me if I would be willing to do a photo shoot of him and his daughter. I was honored that he asked me so without hesitation I obviously said yes.
But then it hit me, it's winter and there's no color... shoot. After some thought I decided it would be kind of cool to do a 'Daddy and Daughter's Day Out' theme to which he agreed. I knew it wasn't a typical way to do a shoot like this but I wanted to try something different and tell a story.
When the day finally came, the weather could not have been more amazing. 70's in February? I'm down. We started out in the River Market district of KC and eventually made our way to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. Because it was so nice out, there were tons of people also out enjoying the day so composition and timing were everything.
One thing I learned coming out of this shoot was not only do I love doing portraits more every time I do them, but I also hope to be half the father that Lee is for his daughter. He seriously deserves an award!
I think it worked out well and we all had a lot of fun throughout the day. We even got sushi after which was just the icing on the cake (which was Ellee's idea). Take a look at the photos and let me know what you think!
